"Can a woman forget her nursing child,
and have no compassion of the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
Behold I have inscribed you on the palm of
My hands."

On Sunday we were blessed by the duel celebration of Mother's Day and the dedication of baby Darius to the Lord.  The graceful dance offered by sister's Dequisha and Elena also lifted our spirits in worship.  Together, these moments were used by the Spirit to witness to the goodness of God.

We were also reminded in the morning message of God's unfailing love through the above scripture.  God uses the illustration of a mother's strong bonds to her nursing child forged in the tribulations of childbirth. This is a bond of love that is virtually impossible to break - even in the face of repeated failures of her children. Even more so, through the sufferings of Jesus on the cross, we were bonded to God forever. Calvary was His delivery room through which you and I were "born-again." Christ's nail scared hands are permanent reminders that we are His children. No matter how much we fail Him, we remain His children.

Your name is forever engraved upon God's hands. Like a mother, you are forever in the thoughts of His heart. Psalm 139:17 recounts this truth:
"How precious also are Thy thoughts towards me, oh God.
How vast is the sum of them!  If I should count them,
they would outnumber the sand..."

In those moments when you feel like singing,  "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child,"  remember that He has never stopped thinking about you.  His thoughts toward you contain living promises like, "I will never leave or forsake you" and  that "nothing in all creation can separate you from my love."

This is why hearing His voice is so essential in our walk with God. May you hear the voice of His thoughts toward you today.
